Tuition Fees
Full-time courses
If you are aged 16-18 on 31st August before you start your full-time course you will not have to pay.
Part-time courses
If you are under 16 you will be required to pay the full cost of your part-time course. All learners under 16 require written permission of their head teacher to attend the college and be accompanied by a parent/guardian or other responsible adult, unless they are a part of a school partnership course.
Adults aged 19 or over?
Course fees are comprised of a tuition fee, an enrolment fee, a materials charge and if applicable a qualification fee. Unless you qualify for a reduction, you will have to pay for your course. Expect to pay around £1500 for full-time courses. Part-time fees are published in the course guide. Foundation Degree fees will be higher – see the relevant partner University for details.
Fee reductions
The list below shows where fee reductions, or in some cases fee waivers, may be granted. Original evidence of eligibility under these categories must be shown at the time of enrolment. Photocopies are NOT acceptable.
- Individuals who are in receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance or Work Related Employment Support Allowance
- Unemployed individuals who are in receipt of Income Support, Council Tax/Housing Benefit, ESA (contribution based - not WRAG) if self-declaration of eligibility form signed stating their wish to enter employment and need for skills training
- Learners aged 19 or over who have not previously achieved a full Level 2 qualification (equivalent to 5 GCSEs grades A*-C)
- Learners aged 19 -24 who have not previously achieved a full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 2 A Levels)

- Adult Basic Skills in Literacy and Numeracy
- GCSE English and Maths for 19-24 year olds, if no previous grade C or above has been achieved
Overseas Students
Students who are normally resident in another country, or do not qualify for UK residency status, will be required to pay a tuition fee of £4,500 for full-time courses. Students who are resident in a European Union State or its dependencies will pay the standard rate shown in the prospectus.
Instalments
Payment by instalment is subject to a 2% (minimum £5) administration charge. For two instalments, payment should be made by means of a post-dated cheque, or authorisation for payment from credit/debit card. For other instalments, payment should be made by standing order. Dates for instalment plans should be arranged with the Finance Office. In cases of financial hardship, any other instalment arrangement must first be approved by the Finance Office. No student will be allowed to commence the course without evidence of payment. Cash instalments are not available. The fee must be paid in full by the end of the course.
Cancellation of programmes and refunding of fees
If a course is cancelled by the College, every effort will be made to offer a suitable alternative. If this is not possible, a full refund will be offered.
Should a student wish to withdraw from a course, they should inform the College at the earliest opportunity. In such cases refunds will only be given on medical grounds or in exceptional circumstances. Students seeking a refund will be required to apply in writing to the Finance Office within one calendar month of withdrawal. If approval is granted, an amount pro rata to attendance will be retained together with 5% of the remaining tuition fee. The enrolment, materials and qualification fees are non-refundable.
If a student withdraws before the beginning of a course, a decision on the amount to be refunded will be taken on an individual basis. We will need to consider factors such as whether the College has already purchased materials and undertaken the qualification entry.
Fees cannot be held over from one academic year to another.
Fees are non-transferable - a refund request should be submitted to the College and the student wishing to take the place should enrol in the normal way.
