National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are work-based qualifications, at different levels, which satisfy both employer and employee development needs.
• Learn and be assessed in the workplace
• Develop skills in line with national occupational standards
• Fill skills gaps
• Recognise employee's existing skills
• Open to employees at any stage of their career
• Can be started at anytime and take between 4 and 24 months to complete
Employees that have completed an NVQ are more likely to:
• Be more motivated
• Work to 'best practice' standards
• Be able to identify potential improvements in their own work
• Be able to train and support others
Government Funding
Government funding is available for a wide range of NVQs, enabling employers to benefit from subsidised training. In certain cases training is FREE for eligible employers and employees.
