This course is principally designed for apprentices who wish to improve their skills, understanding and practical competences; it will help them become more effective in their jobs. You will work within a range of units covering the following: Establishment and maintenance of plants, Decorative amenity areas and turf, Use and maintenance of tools and machinery, Site preparation and Health and Safety in the workplace. Floristry Level 2 National Certificate NPTC

This practical, foundation horticulture course includes both class and practical sessions and is consequently best suited to those who would like to increase their knowledge for hobby gardening or alternatively embarking upon a career in horticulture. The course often appeals to those who have recently become self-employed in garden maintenance as it allows them to gain the knowledge to accompany their practical skills. Aspects of the course include propagation techniques, identification of plants, weeds, pests and diseases and the skills and knowledge relating to the maintenance of grounds and gardens. This nationally recognized level 3 course is designed for those looking for career progression or hoping to enter employment in the management and conservation of wildlife habitats.
