This award is an ideal follow on from level 1 and is a one year programme that follows a 6 unit route. The course is both practical and theory based and will also include several practical tasks supported by written assignments and exams. The course will also cover a BTEC 1st Level 2 in Engineering. Key Skills at Level 2 in Application of Number, Communications and IT will also be delivered during your training. You will be required to carry out several practical assessments supported by written reports. Underpinning knowledge will be tested by both written and computer based tests. Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 2 Certificate IMI
A one year, level 2 qualification by IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) that builds on skills gained at level 1. You will develop an awareness of the industry and gain competence and experience within the motor vehicle workshops, carrying out routine maintenance and inspection of vehicles with diagnosis of common faults. Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 NVQ EMTA
A two year course offering a Level 1 Engineering qualification awarded by EMTA (Engineering Marine Training Association), together with key skills at Level 1 in Application of Number, Communications and IT. You will learn drilling skills, welding and basic machine operations and all relevant health and safety operations. To gain the qualification you will be required to carry out a number of practical and theory assignments that are both written and computer based. You will be supported throughout the training programme by fully qualified staff; tutorials and course reviews will help you set and achieve targets during your training. Option of progression on to a Level 2 course.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 3 Diploma IMI
This is a full-time programme covering the required units to gain a diploma in motor vehicle maintenance. It is a follow-on course from the technical certificate at level two and covers the required underpinning knowledge for the NVQ light vehicle maintenance and repair programme. The course will have practical based assessments and both on-line and paper based tests. You will be supported by a fully qualified assessor throughout your training on this programme.

Mechanical Engineering Level 3 National Diploma BTEC
Eighteen units equivilent to three A levels which will prepare students for entry into higher education or employment in manufacturing or Mechanical engineering. Students may wish to complete this course as an extension in study after the National certificate or Award. There are six core units (one double unit) and eleven specialist units with 60 guided learning hours per unit. The Diploma will be run over four days each week and students will also complete three key skills at level 2. There is close student support with tutorial and enrichment lessons.

Engineering Level 3 Certificate C&G
This practical hands-on-course offers a unique balance of essential skills, knowledge and customised, job specific learning and is a natural follow-on from the Level 2 course. You will study six units: two core units (covering essential skill such as safety), one 'principles of' unit that reflects your job and the type of engineering you work in, and three optional units such as sheet metal work, welding, turning, milling, grinding and CAD. You will be supported by experienced, qualified staff during your training which will be mainly practical but with theory lessons providing underpinning knowledge.
