Art & Design Diploma In Foundation Studies (Pre-Degree) BTEC
This is a pre-degree course that will give you an insight into the range and expectations of the different disciplines in Art and Media & Design. This is a diagnostic course that is the accepted route into Higher Education. The course consists of a balance between practical studio work, contextual studies and workshop activities. Art, Media and Design is explored through a series of projects that encourage experimentation. You will use a variety of materials and ways of working to help you find your strengths before choosing your career. You are encouraged to specialise more in your chosen subject as the course progresses. The course includes: Drawing, Visual Studies, 3D and Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking, Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles, Art History and Digital Media.

Art & Design Level 2 First Diploma BTEC
The BTEC First Diploma covers the areas of Fine Art, Textiles, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture and Computer-aided Art and Design. This is a general course providing a solid grounding on which to build skills and confidence enabling you to gain the equivalent of 4 GCSEs at grade C. The course is practical and creative giving you the opportunity to be involved in a range of art and design based disciplines through a series of projects. As the course progresses you will understand your potential and artistic strengths. When you have completed the course you will have a portfolio of work and be able to progress to the National Diploma in Art and Design or the National Certificate in Photography.

Art & Design Level 3 National Diploma BTEC
A broad based course introducing students to a variety of techniques and processes including Art History and Computer generated imagery. During the first year students will explore a range of disciplines including Painting, Printmaking, Photography, three dimensional constructions, and Life Drawing. The second year encourages further development and exploration of Fine Art practice and ideas through a creative and individual approach to project work. This includes multi-disciplinary and experimental investigations into 2D and 3D media, materials and processes. You will be given help and advice with your work through regular tutorials and portfolio presentation.

Art, Design & Media Level 1 Introductory Diploma BTEC
This is a one year course that will give you a practical introduction to Art, Design and Media improving your skills by exploring a variety of approaches. You will learn a range of creative subjects such as Photography, Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Textiles, Graphic Design, Computer-aided Art and Design, and Sculpture. The course is project based allowing you to build up a portfolio of art and design images that will prepare you for progression to the BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design.
