Animal Management Level 3 National Award BTEC
This 1 year long Award provides fundamental training in aspects of Animal Husbandry such as Health, handling and nutrition but is also designed to offer exciting specialist optional units to tailor your knowledge and experience to your chosen career goals e.g. Pet Store Management, Animal Rehabilitation or Kennel & Cattery Management. Alternatively, you can just select units which interest you*. Excellent all round practical experience is gained through our own well stocked Animal Centre and regular field visits during class time to a variety of collections to support learning and may culminate in a end of year study tour within the UK depending on the options chosen. To maintain a competitive CV, you will also do a weekly placement as well as a two week block. *subject to availability.

Animal Care Level 2 First Diploma BTEC
Our first diploma offers an exciting range of modules to whet your appetite and there is something for everyone! You will learn underpinning knowledge about general animal care and be introduced to animal biology but may choose to specialise in animal nursing, care of exotic animals or horse care! As with all our courses, you will also develop excellent practical skills at our own Animal Centre in addition to a weekly voluntary work placement of your own choosing to run alongside your course, together with a series of block placements. At the end of your First Diploma course you will graduate with all the essential skills to become an asset to your chosen animal care job or you might prefer to stay and upgrade your qualifications to National Diploma level* *subject to overall grade.

Horse Care Level 2 NVQ NPTC
As a 1 year, full-time NVQ this course is designed for school leavers and mature students who have an interest in equine studies. In the classroom you will learn the underpinning knowledge of eight mandatory units and one optional unit; all mandatory units will need to be obtained to achieve a full NVQ 2 qualification. Two days will be spent in the classroom and one day at our equine centre attending practical sessions. You will gain further weekly experience through voluntary work and a block placement that will run alongside your course. The NVQ is also offered as a 38 week, part-time course for students already employed full-time or apprenticed within an equine establishment.

Horse Care Level 1 NVQ NPTC
This 1 year course is appropriate to students who have a keen interest in Horse Care. There are 5 mandatory units which you will study over a three days in the classroom. The underpinning knowledge and understanding you gain from here will be transferred to our practical yard where hands-on experience can be gained. You will also gain further experience through a one day a week voluntary placement and block placement throughout the year.
